Parnaz Kaur Art, life and history, seen through a Sikh lens

Privacy

I run this site myself. I ask for as little as I can, I never sell or rent anything about you, and there is no advertising or analytics tracking here at all.

This page explains what I collect, why, and who else ends up seeing it. If anything here is unclear, write to me at parnazarts@gmail.com and I will answer properly.

What I collect

If you buy a print

Your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, and what you ordered. I need these to have the print made, get it to you, and keep an honest record of the sale.

Your card details never reach this site. Payment is handled directly by the payment processor. All I ever see is whether the payment succeeded and the last four digits of the card.

If you write to me through the contact form

Your name, email address, and your message. The message is saved on the site and also emailed to me so I actually see it.

If you ask to be told when prints are ready

Your email address and which painting you asked about. That is all — no name, nothing else. It is kept on my own site, not with a mailing-list company.

Everyone who visits

My web host keeps ordinary server logs, which include IP addresses and which pages were requested. That happens on almost every website and I do not use those logs for anything beyond keeping the site working.

What I do not do

  • I do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone.
  • There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no Facebook or TikTok tracking, and no third-party profiling on this site.
  • I do not send marketing email unless you specifically asked to be told about something, and every such message has a way to stop it.

Who else sees your information

Only the people needed to get you your print, plus two services that supply parts of the page:

  • The printer. Prints are made to order by Lumaprints, who receive your name and shipping address so they can produce and post your order. They do not receive your payment details.
  • The payment processor. They receive your payment and billing details directly, and hold them under their own privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts. The site loads two typefaces from Google’s font service, so your browser makes a request to Google on every page and Google can see your IP address. No cookie is set by this.
  • YouTube. The Beyond the studio page shows video thumbnails hosted by YouTube, which likewise means a request to Google carrying your IP address. These are plain images, not embedded players, so YouTube does not set cookies or track you unless you click through to watch.
  • Instagram. Only if you click the link in the footer. Nothing is shared until you do.

Cookies

The shop sets a small number of cookies so your basket survives while you move between pages and so checkout works. If you have a customer account, one remembers that you are signed in.

There are no advertising or analytics cookies on this site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the shop will simply forget what was in your basket.

How long I keep things

  • Orders — kept for as long as I am required to keep sales records, and so I can help if something goes wrong later.
  • Contact form messages — kept while they are useful, then deleted.
  • The “tell me when prints are ready” list — kept until those prints are available and I have written to you, or until you ask to come off it, whichever is first.

Your choices

Write to me at parnazarts@gmail.com and I will:

  • tell you what I hold about you,
  • correct anything that is wrong,
  • delete it, unless I am required to keep it as a sales record, and
  • take you off any list you are on.

If you are in the UK or the EU you have these rights under data protection law, and you may complain to your national data protection authority. I would rather you came to me first so I can put it right.

Children

This site is not aimed at children, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If I change how any of this works, I will change this page and update the date at the bottom.
